About CNC Turning

When it comes to creating components with complete precision, it is important to source these from a company that you can trust. At Crabb Engineering Ltd we have 9 live tooling and CNC lathes machines available to use, including:

Our capability to carry out bar feed and live tooling enables us to provide support for the majority of turning requirements, up to 230 mm chucking, 700 mm between centre ranges, and 65 mm bar. This section of our manufacturing is always supported by the stand-alone engineering department. Specifically, the department uses solid works, process 2 MRP, manual and CNC CMM, and off-line programming using Edgecam.

The process of turning works to cut items for manufacture and machines can move in a straight line or at an angle. Turning can both be completed manually or using an automated lathe, usually referred to as CNC (Computer Numerical Control).
